ABELARD has developed a Collection of Shirts using Superfine 2 Ply yarn, or superb stretch yarns.

With structured shirting fabrics, the finer the yarn, the better the quality and higher the fabric cost. 

To give the superfine yarn fabric density and ‘body’, so that the fabric sits and drapes well, we twist together 2 strands of the superfine yarn which gets woven to become ‘2 Ply’ fabric.  The superfine yarn and natural tension this twisting causes, gives the cotton fabric the subtle sheen – a true indicator of Luxury Shirting. The fabrics are super soft to wear and are easier to iron.
